5. Lito's Wire-Fu

The Wachowskis are clearly aware of the public perception of their work. Along with undermining their action tendencies with that car chase, their own directing styles get a more thorough ribbing in the aforementioned Lito's movie production. A big-budget, melodramatic action film, there's once part that looks mighty familiar...

...Namely, the shoot-out between Lito's character and a load of bad guys in a hallway that involves the actors wired up so they can be lifted through the air, and squibs on the numerous pillars so they'll explode as if shot by actual bullets. So, almost identical to the set up the Wachowskis used for the hallway scene in the first Matrix movie.

For the most part, Sense8 is a very weird show that manages not to indulge in any meta, post-modern tendencies. Considering how private they are, and seemingly serious-minded, seeing the Wachowskis making fun of their own (super iconic) movies is a somewhat surreal experience.
