10 Most Ludicrous Things To Ever Happen On 24

6. Making The President The Bad Guy - Season 5

24 TV Show
Fox

Day Five is arguably the best season of 24; sorry first season, you just aren't as sexy as Bauer's weird haircut and a Robocop cameo.

For the first time in the series of 24, the political storylines had woven seamlessly with the CTU storylines in a tapestry of intrigue and conspiracy that would have made audiences stand to applause once the series ended. With members of President Charles Logan's inner circle slowly being revealed as conspirators to the assassination of David Palmer and the Sentox nerve gas attacks, it seemed the bumbling POTUS was just a man in way over his head.

Until it wasn't - and it's revealed the POTUS himself was in on the conspiracy, and while he wasn't at the top of the food chain, he certainly pulled some of the strings. Looking back now, it is one of the daftest plot devices in the series and makes Charles Logan's actions before the reveal seem even stranger when his decisions and fluffing actively work against his overall plan.

Every President in 24 has some fall from grace in the series, but while past and future Presidents compromised their positions for their morals, Charles Logan was revealed to be more of a James Bond villain than a tragic antagonist. Overall, this plot was poorly handled, and future season stories involving Charles just got more absurd.

But a shout-out has to be made to the one person who did bring him down; his amazing wife Martha Logan (Jean Smart). And she didn't even need Bauer Power to do it. Respect!

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
