10 Most Memorable Doctor Who Pre-Title Sequences

2. Blink

Arguably the best overall episode of NuWho, Blink starts off in an extremely mysterious manner. Whovians meet Sally Sparrow as she enters an abandoned house and finds a note written to her on a wall by the Doctor. Viewers also catch their first glimpse of the terrifying Weeping Angels. This pre-credits sequence accomplishes a couple of goals. It first introduces our protagonist, who will be the audience surrogate throughout the episode as the Doctor is barely in it. It also introduces the concept of the time loop that runs throughout the story, as the Doctor warns Sally to duck before a rock almost hits her. It's one of the best balanced introductions in Doctor Who, setting up a frightening villain and a mind-bending timey-wimey plot to boot.
