10 Most Memorable Doctor Who Pre-Title Sequences

8. The Angels Take Manhattan

Shock horror. The Statue of Liberty is actually a Weeping Angel! Like, seriously. Let's move on. Unfortunately, the final shot of this pre-credits sequence is the one that sticks out the most. The ridiculous revelation that Lady Liberty is actually a time travelling creature is both wildly pointless and incredibly unbelievable. Without this shot, the pre-credit sequence is one of Moffat€™s best, as he sets up a dark, noirish atmosphere that is both intriguing and different for Doctor Who. The developing mystery draws the viewer in and, although the rest of the episode becomes somewhat convoluted by the end, this is certainly a promising and mysterious start.
