10 Most Messed Up Twin Peaks Moments

9. Ike The Spike Strikes

Twin Peaks
Showtime

There was nothing pleasant about Ike the Spike... Literally nothing. When his character was written out of the series, it meant we could exhale and carry on with our lives.

He was the small hit-man with a big fetish for violence, and he applied zero discretion or subtlety to his killing technique. The scene where he claims his victim in an office block is pretty damn nasty. Having already murdered someone off camera, Ike strolls into shot, corners his target and repeatedly shivs her with his patented spike. There's nothing artistic or surreal about this one. It's pure blood-spattered carnage, and relatively hard to watch.

To make matters worse, another colleague haplessly stumbles in on the scene, which warrants Ike to perform another off-camera murder. Good job we didn't have to endure this one. The scene ends with him discovering that his pointy weapon of choice is bent beyond usage, causing the deluded assassin to quietly mourn, as though the weapon is a wounded pet.

Forgive us if we don't express the greatest deal of sympathy!
