It's important to remember those different types of meta. Supernatural is an expert in the self-referential kind, but boy does it love to take pot shots at the actors' other, oftentimes questionable ventures.

Dean's fallen asleep in front of My Bloody Valentine (which - spoiler alert - featured Jensen Ackles as the murderer), a fight with a waxwork Paris Hilton culminated in the line, "I never watched House of Wax" (a jab at Jared Padalecki's co-starring role in the 2005 painfully average teen slasher), and there's a robot head easter egg in reference to the incredible Syfy movie Stonehenge Apocalypse.

The best snipe comes at the expense of Padalecki once again.
