Their revelation is met with everything from acceptance to denial to outright hatred; their struggle providing an effective metaphor for real life groups who have faced oppression throughout history and have struggled to be recognised as equals.

Though the first season is a little slow to get started, True Blood finds its beat in the second season and becomes a well crafted dark fairy tale.
