10 Most Rewatchable Horror TV Shows

2. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Joss Whedon struck pop culture gold in the 1990s with his twist on the traditional horror movie format. A simple premise; take the pretty blond cheerleader prototype who had been murdered in literally every horror movie of the 1980s and give her the power and the tools to fight back.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer was a runaway smash; sharp and witty dialogue, a likeable gang of characters (the “Scooby Gang”) and just a dash of forbidden romance as Buffy finds herself falling for reclusive vampire Angel. Bella and Edward? Eat your heart out.

Over the course of its run Buffy provided laughs, tears and excitement as well as providing one of the best female heroes since Sigourney Weaver used a cargo-loader to kill the Alien Queen. Buffy proved itself adept at drama as well, with critically acclaimed episodes such as “The Body” taking a very serious and very sobering look at death and loss.

Though some of the pop culture references have aged by today, Joss Whedon’s sharp dialogue (which years later would also help set the tone for the juggernaut that is the MCU franchise) and the actor’s charm and charisma mean that Buffy The Vampire Slayer is still highly rewatchable.
