4. Vitalij Halaj, "I Want to Love" - Ukraine 2012
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrhtvXGVjWc Vitalij Halaj is an odd one. He's released several songs in his native Ukraine, has had some success with them and in general seems to be rather talented. When it comes to Eurovision though, poor Vitalij hasn't had much success. In his 2011 attempt, Vitalij was disqualified for having more than the six people allowed on stage; a rookie error. Thankfully, one year on, Vitalij only brought two people with him for "I Want to Love". No amount of people could help him for what was about to happen, though. Maybe it was nerves, maybe it was something else, but Vitalij's performance was nothing short of the disaster film playing behind him (maybe that was an in-joke by the producers?) Nasally and out of tune throughout, it's when Vitalij attempts to go for a high note that everything goes on. Even his backing singer shows obvious signs of distress when he goes for it; the most shrill, bizarre and protracted note in history. Even worse than that, Vitalij looks proud of his efforts, blissfully unaware that the judges watching him are all laughing their heads off. Now if you excuse me, I've got to go repair my eardrums before anything else...
