10 Most Satisfying Star Trek Moments

Following on from the Baseball, after several months of enemy occupation, Starfleet realise that they have to retake Deep Space Nine and they cannot hold off any longer. The minefield is about to be deactivated and the Dominion could call in reinforcements from the Gamma Quadrant. The Federation taskforce launches its attack against the much larger Dominion and Cardassian fleet, in the face of bad odds.

The battle features many spectacular visuals, including the heroic charge of the Klingons, helping the Defiant punch a hole in the Cardassian line so that it can get through to Deep Space Nine. But the most stunning and satisfying moment is seeing not one, but two Galaxy-class ships doing a drive-by double pummel of a Cardassian Galor cruiser.

This is a nod to the destruction of the USS Odyssey at the hands of the Dominion several years earlier, where it was made quite clear that a Galaxy-class couldn't stand up to the Jem'Hadar. This was a deliberate visual choice, as of course the beloved USS Enterprise D is a Galaxy-class. How best to display the threat of the new enemy, show that they are mightier than your regular hero.
