10 Most Shocking Moments In Squid Game
6. The Reveal Of The Front Man
The show's writer - Hwang Dong-hyuk - had the tough job of making sure the show's main concept was exciting, but not the only thing it had going for it. If the series had only revolved around the games, then it might have gotten boring, but luckily, subplots helped keep it fresh. The best of these had to be Jun-Ho's infiltration arc, which ended in this dramatic reveal.
Throughout the games, the young police officer Jun-Ho searched the deadly competition for his missing brother. His mission led him to uncover the whole conspiracy, and it seemed he would blow the lid off this dreadful mess so long as he made it away safely. Naturally, this didn't happen.
He ended up getting cornered on a cliff by the Front Man and his goons and shot after finding out who was behind the mask. The mystery of the Front Man's identity had been a question many viewers had throughout the show, so it came as a shock when they found out it was none other than the brother Jun-Ho was looking for.
Couple this with the fact that the masked man then shot his own flesh and blood, and you've got one hell of a wicked twist.
