10 Most Surprising TV Cancellations Of 2020
7. GLOW
When GLOW debuted back in 2017 on Netflix, it was a sure-fire hit. The series was incredibly charming, with the focus on wrestling being a major selling point, but enough universal appeal to attract fans outside of the sport.
The first season was a success, and the second one exceeded it, and while the third season was a slight disappointment, fans were still eager to see more of these characters.
GLOW's fourth and final season was announced to be taking place, and it seemed like the perfect way for the show to end. It wouldn't overstay its welcome and could go out on its own terms, but sadly this didn't end up being the fate of this title, as the pandemic caused it to be cut short.
Although many shows have halted due to the pandemic, they've resumed once guidelines were put in place, but with GLOW however that was less easy. The focus on wrestling meant physical distancing was impossible, leading to massive delays that likely cost Netflix a lot of money, as the series was one of their more expensive properties.
This was a great show, and it deserved to end better but is a pure example of how impactful this year has been.
