10 Most Terrifying NuWho Doctor Who Episodes

Dalek introduced NuWho watchers to their first-ever interaction with a Dalek, showing how heartless and powerful the metal creature is by killing every single person who stands in its way. The Ninth Doctor and Rose find themselves arriving in 2012 to answer a distress signal, leading them to Henry van Statten's museum of alien artefacts.

Once the Doctor realises Henry van Statten is holding a Dalek in his collection, overcome by rage, he immediately tries to kill the Dalek by electrocuting it to death. When Rose sees footage of the tortured Dalek, she demands to go and see the creature to stop the hurt he is going through. In sympathy, Rose touches the Dalek, and immediately the Dalek absorbs some of her DNA, breaking free of its chains and gaining its full power back.

Here we see the full power of destruction that one Dalek can do with the Doctor warning everyone on Earth will be dead if it escapes the museum. The Dalek ruthlessly kills everyone in his way as it tries to find van Statten to kill him after the torture it went through.

Dalek gave viewers the first significant look into the Time War after it was mentioned earlier in the season. Throughout the episode, we see the Ninth Doctor overcome with guilt and rage as he admits he ended the war, causing an unthinkable amount of death on both sides, while not being able to let go of the hatred he has for his enemy.
