Network TV budgets can be limited most times, but this does not stop filmmakers from realizing fantastical and over-the-top beings. Such is the case with King Shark, the metahuman man-shark that terrorized Team Flash and Central City for brief spells throughout the series before allying himself with the heroes.

Also known as Shay Lamden, King Shark was transformed into his current form by the infamous particle accelerator explosion and after a while, he was recruited by Hunter Zolomon/Zoom during the latter's war against the Flash. His physiology gave him superhuman speed, strength, toughness underwater adaptation, and electrolocation.

After a few encounters with the Scarlet Speedster, he was (forcibly) recruited by ARGUS as a metahuman guard. A couple of years later, ARGUS scientists developed a cure for Lamden's condition, but he ultimately declined to take it to stop a rampaging Gorilla Grodd and regain parts of his lost humanity and some redemption in the process.
