China White (also known as Chien Na Wei) was a recurring foe in Oliver Queen's early days as a vigilante who troubled the hero throughout most of his career up until the series' final season. The assassin and top Triad member's history is storied and saw her engage with Amanda Waller, the Yamashiro family, and the Lian Yu warlord, Edward Fyers.

After a few years of globe-trotting, she lent her killer talents to Starling City and worked for various crime lords, and even allied herself with criminals such Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger, Carrie Cutter/Cupid, and Liza Warner. She was also part of a new version of Task Force X known as the Ghost Initiative that saw her reteam with Cutter.

Her physical training and combat skill have enabled her to hold her own against and overwhelm skilled fighters such as Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Spartan. This, coupled with her ruthless and efficient persona made her entertaining to watch during Arrow's tenure.
