8. Halfrek
Halfrek was introduced as a vengeance demon and the oldest friend of Anya in season six. She was outwardly cheery, but that only made her destructive, torturous powers all the more terrifying.
During her tenure on the show, she acted as both Anya's manipulative confidant, occasionally clashed with the Scooby Gang, and in the final season died a fiery death when Anya decided to officially leave her demon past behind her.
Of course, the most interesting part of Halfrek's existence is that she's played by Kali Rocha, the same actress who played Spike's unrequited love interest Cecily before he became a vampire. Though this is briefly alluded to when the pair cross paths in season six, the narrative potential of the casting is annoyingly left unexplored.
A great addition to the show's worldbuilding and a darkly funny supporting player, Halfrek was great to have around, but is tragically rarely talked about within the fandom.
