7. Kendra Young
If you can get past the atrocious accent, which actress Bianca Lawson was told to use on the day of shooting, for some reason, Kendra Young is a great character who never really got her dues on the show.
At the end of season one, Buffy faces off against The Master and is briefly killed, in which time a new Slayer was called to take her place. In season two, Kendra arrives in Sunnydale and announces herself as the new Chosen One.
Teaming up with Buffy with take on big bads Spike and Drusilla, Kendra had a tough relationship with Buffy since they were such different people, but ended up working together brilliantly whilst Kendra was in town.
Unfortunately, this pairing didn't last, since Drusilla kills her at the end of the season. In death, though, she's the reason Faith was introduced to the show, and her very existence brought added focus to the complexity of Slayer lore.
