2. Warren Mears
The Trio are often cited as perhaps the worst villains in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Made up of super-geeks Jonathan, Andrew and Warren, the awkward, painfully unthreatening group caused some trouble for Buffy, but were ultimately forgettable.
But that all changed later in season six, when Warren Mears became the focal villain and began to show his true colours. First, he tricks Buffy into thinking she's killed someone; then he shoots her and kills Tara.
A vile misogynist with no redeeming qualities, Warren went from bland bad guy to excellent big bad who caused more trouble and heartbreak than almost any other major villain on the show.
Played with detestable anger by Adam Busch, he was incredibly easy to hate, but still made for one of the series' most effective, horrifying, and damaging antagonists.
