10 Most Underrated Community Episodes

4. Home Economics

Community Basic Human Anatomy
Sony Pictures Television

Season 1 is perhaps the most underrated season in the show. It captures our attention right off the bat, quickly establishes its characters as quirky enough that we'd want to stick with them for six seasons and a movie, yet relatable enough that we could connect with them, and paints a beautiful portrait of the weird world of Greendale almost immediately.

Home Economics is one of the most underrated episodes from that season. It follows Jeff after being kicked out of his apartment and now living with Abed in the dorms. The pair have fun watching TV and eating junk food together, but Abed and Britta grow concerned when Jeff's ambition disappears entirely. They eventually remind Jeff of his former high life, and he moves out.

This is one of the first moments where we can see how much the characters care about each other. Though Abed would want to live with Jeff forever, he puts his friend's needs ahead of his own. Couple this heartfelt storyline with two hilarious subplots, one involving Annie's crush on Troy (remember that?) and another about Pierce joining Britta's ex-boyfriend's band, and it's hard to imagine that Home Economics isn't considered an all-time great Community episode.

Plus, this episode gives us two of the best Community songs ever: "Getting Rid of Britta" and "Pierce You Are a B."
