10 Most Underrated Parks And Recreation Characters
2. Ben Wyatt
The undisputed King of Ice Town, Sir Benjamin "Ben" Wyatt KBE (Adam Scott) is a uniquely underrated character from the main Parks & Rec cast.
Joining the show in the final episodes of season two, Ben became a cast regular, at first as a consultant brought in to downsize the Pawnee local government, and then as Leslie's primary love interest and eventual husband.
In terms of supporting characters Ben is nobody's favourite: Always side-lined in favour of the big-hitters, like Ron, April, Andy and Jerry/Garry/Larry/Lenny, he is a real diamond in the rough. It may seem strange for such a main character to be so underrated, but for the most part Ben plays a straight man, at first to Rob Lowe's zany Chris Traeger, and then Amy Poehler's headstrong Leslie Knope.
However, the moments in which he is allowed to shine are some of the series best. Think: Crying in the Batsuit; creating (and winning) the Cones of Dunshire tabletop game; and going off the rails during a period of unemployment and creating two seconds of claymation from three weeks of hard work.
Growing into one of the show's major players throughout its duration, Ben is the MVP nobody saw coming, and often the only island of sanity in a constant whirlwind of madness. Little Sebastian, anyone?
