10 Most Underrated Sci-Fi/Fantasy Shows

Coming out last year, the Rook is a British miniseries that follows the story an undercover organization tasked with handling supernatural threats. While this may sound like recycling all the common tropes, the plot is filled with unique twists and angles that often subvert the stereotype.

It begins with Myfanwy Thomas who wakes up under a bridge surrounded by bodies and has no memory of who she is or how she got there. This starts off a gripping tale of retracing steps and carefully avoiding dangerous enemies until it is no longer possible.

Myfanwy soon discovers she is a member of a secret organization called the Checguy who deal with threats that are not even known to the public. What’s more, much like everyone else she encounters in these circles, she too has supernatural powers. With all the intrigue surrounding its premise and storyline, one would imagine it deserved a better reception than it got.
