10 Most Underrated Simpsons Characters

8. Doctor Hibbert

The Simpsons Hans Moleman Kiss
Fox

Unlike Dr Nick, Julius Hibbert has passed his medical exams. That said, if you live in Springfield and you're seeking treatment, you better be willing to pay top dollar because competent treatment doesn't come cheap! For all Dr Hibbert's expert training, he has a scrooge-like business sense which belies his chuckling exterior. This bass-register laugh can often lull Springfield's residents into a false sense of security - even when the news is terminal.

He's come to know the Simpsons family very well over the years, particularly Homer, who he's treated for a crayon to the brain, deadly consumption of an aquatic animal and repeated cannonballs to the stomach. Homer's still alive, so let's give Dr Hibbert credit where it's due.

This character is a funny one. Dr Hibbert has been in the show from the very start, and he's made plenty of appearances, yet he's not a particularly loved Simpsons character. Maybe it's the lack of centric episodes in the show's Golden Age.
