Bart's best, and generally put-upon, friend, Milhouse has been best buds with the eldest Simpson child his entire life, though the reason why is a complete mystery. Constantly cowed, bullied or manipulated for his friend's gain, Milhouse rarely comes out on top. He was once named among America's Most Wanted after a prank by Bart went awry.

Milhouse is rejected by the kids at school for his social awkwardness and anxiety. This isn't helped by a suffocating mother who warns him "solving riddles is an asthma trigger". While generally subservient to Bart, he will lash out on occasion. He once fought him tooth and nail over a comic book, and also told on Bart for swearing when he hadn't.

For all the great moments he's had, Milhouse is a wet blanket. He's probably a character that works best in short doses, due to his family life being so depressing - the divorce of his parents, constant bullying etc.
