3. LA To Vegas (FOX, 2018)

As far as mid-season replacements go, this was one of the best.

The concept for LA to Vegas was a simple one. It told the story of a fictional commuter flight between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and the pack screwballs on it. Most of each episode was spent on the plane or in one of the airports on either end. Though by the all too quick end of the series, they had started to branch out a bit.

Ronnie Messing, a veteran flight attendant on Jackpot Airlines, is the focus of the series in her search to better her life, whether that be through her career or love. Fortunately, she's surrounded by a group of helpful crazy people, like the compulsive gambling children's dentist, the brilliant stripper and the delusional pilot who occasionally forgets how to land the plane.

The cast had a nice balance of familiar faces and new blood. In particular, Swedish actor Peter Stormare got to cut loose and be as weird as he could possibly be. Also, the feud between the handsome pilots played by Dylan McDermott, Dermot Mulroney and Josh Duhamel is a sight to behold.

LA to Vegas was short changed with only 15 episodes in total. It didn't even get time to establish the tone of the series. This is a prime contender for more seasons on Netflix.
