10 Must-See New TV Shows Starting In February 2022

5. Better Things

This isn’t a new show, but rather a criminally underrated one. Pamela Aldon’s spectacular, touching, and hilarious semi autobiographical series returns to our screens for the final time on February 28th, and if comedy equal parts funny and moving are your cup of tea, you owe it to yourself to take a look before it ends.

Aldon plays Sam Fox, a single mother and actress juggling work and life in Los Angeles. She has three daughters who take up a large chunk of her time, an ailing mother who needs increasingly more attention, and a career to chip away at amidst all that.

The show was created by Aldon (alongside Louis C.K, who is no longer attached) and is the vehicle she has deserved for many years. She’s one of the most vulnerable and natural actors on TV and transcends the fairly thin concept. Better Things has an immense amount of heart but never finds itself in saccharin territory, always able to temper the sentiment with something outrageous.

It’s a show that has been critically beloved from the off but never found the audience it deserved. It ought to go out on a high.
