10 New & Returning TV Shows You Need To Watch In September
8. The Simpsons S27
The Simpsons is never going to end. It's going to keep on running and running, even when no one is watching and TVs don't even exist anymore, Homer, Bart et al will still be there. It has now passed the stage of there being more bad seasons of the show than good/great/ridiculously amazing ones, with a well-documented decline over the last decade or so. However, it's on this list because of the fact that it's the freaking Simpsons, and when it gets it right nothing else compares. Harry Shearer is back, and the audience will be too, just in case it somehow manages to rediscover a little bit of that magic or spark that made us all fall in love with it in the first place. It'll probably end up in bitter disappointment once again, yet still there's always that glimmer of hope we'll be having crushed on on September 27.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
