10 New & Returning TV Shows You Need To Watch In September

5. Brooklyn Nine-Nine S3

Fox's Sunday night comedy block will be up and running once again in September, with shows such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers shown back-to-back-to-back. However, the highlight among all of these animated sitcom heavyweights is a live-action show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It follows Andy Samberg as Detective Jake Peralta, ably supported by the likes of Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, and Melissa Fumero. It manages to put a fresh twist on the workplace comedy, combining sitcom elements with action, and Samberg's own particular brand of humour plays off brilliantly with the supporting cast. On a purely laugh-for-laugh basis, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the best sitcom of the fall season, but that isn't to say it doesn't have a lot of heart and great characters as well. Season 3 begins on September 27.
