7. The Anti-Metahuman Task Force

After trying to keep the fact that superpowered people were running amok around the city in secret for an entire season, the truth has finally been revealed. There are metahumans who could kill entire buildings filled with people without even stepping foot inside. While that would certainly be a scary thought when tucking your kids into bed at night, imagine how scary it would be for a metahuman to see on the news that the police department was creating a task force to deal with metahumans and lock them away in special cages. The problem is with the name. This isn't an anti-metahuman "criminal" task force, just anti-metahuman. That pretty much encompasses everyone with powers, and the newest member of the taskforce Patty Spivot seems to have a vendetta against metahumans seeing as her father was killed by one. It all comes across as a bit racist against people with powers. The message the police are sending out isn't that they'll stop superpowered criminals, it's that if you're different, they're going to hunt you down. And if a metahuman was already on edge before, the thought of the police one day kicking in their doors with their metahuman weapons to drag them off to a cell designed just for them isn't going to make them feel any safer.
