10 Most Offensive Family Guy Moments Ever

1. "I Need A Jew"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h2wMIfRUb0 One of the more constant accusations aimed at Family Guy is one of anti-Semitism. The show has a strong and frequent vein of comedy that addresses Jewish stereotypes, and is often claimed by its critics to cross the line and be hopelessly offensive. Obviously, with such a criticism being aired, we must occasionally ask if this claim is a fair one. The episode in which Peter seeks a Jew to balance his chequebook was banned by Fox for a while €“ they feared uproar at some of the stereotypes discussed in the show €“ and wasn't aired until some of the lyrics to the song 'I Need A Jew' were cut or altered. I remember being excited when I bought the boxset containing this episode and saw it had content too hot for TV, then being disappointed by how tame the episode was. It looked like an overreaction by Fox, possibly in response to the growing criticism the show was already attracting. A trawl through the comments on YouTube clips show that a remarkable amount of people are still offended by the stereotyping of Jews by the show's writers. For me, it is no worse than in an average Woody Allen film, and Mort remains one of my favourite characters. But still, the issue and the fact that the episode was banned puts it easily among Family Guy's most offensive moments so far.

I am a freelance writer, currently residing in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. I was raised by wolves in the woodlands of Northumberland, but am still posher than Colin Firth having dinner with The Queen. I write all of my pieces by swallowing a cocktail of scrabble tiles and vodka, then regurgitating them over my jotter. Hope this explains the typos.
