10 Most Offensive Family Guy Moments Ever

4. Nazi Republicans

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIWTB8POnkg The episode where Stewie and Brian travel back in time to save Mort Goldman from the Nazis is a particular favourite of mine, crammed to the gills with clever references, slapstick and sharply observed stereotypes. Also, any episode featuring Mort is a treat in my eyes, as he's easily one of the funnier supporting characters and the one I'd hoped would take up Cleveland Brown's vacant barstool at the Drunken Clam. Despite the many, many jokes at Mort's expense and his constant living out of Jewish stereotypes, it isn't actually a Jewish joke that provoked controversy and was deliberately designed to cause offence. Instead, the Family Guy writers stuck two fingers up at the GOP €“ when Stewie and Brian steal Nazi uniforms to blend in with the enemy, they notice a 'Vote McCain/Palin' button on the lapel, a reference to that year's Republican nominees in the American General Election. Whether or not it causes you offence depends on your politics. Seth MacFarlane never misses an opportunity to bash the American right-wingers, and I for one had a smirk at this reference.

I am a freelance writer, currently residing in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. I was raised by wolves in the woodlands of Northumberland, but am still posher than Colin Firth having dinner with The Queen. I write all of my pieces by swallowing a cocktail of scrabble tiles and vodka, then regurgitating them over my jotter. Hope this explains the typos.
