10 Once Awesome TV Shows That Now Suck

3. The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Tv A controversial choice, The Walking Dead was among the best shows on television when it first premiered back in 2010., but sadly, the series has done nothing more than drag on throughout the third season and into the fourth. There are more than a few points that come to mind when judging the overall quality of the series. First of all, the premise of the series would have been great for a miniseries that lasted a season or two and nothing more. How long exactly can a zombie apocalypse last? There comes a point when either everyone in the world succumbs to the zombified conditions or eventually manages to take it back. It certainly shouldn't last beyond four seasons and it makes for tired plots. But the show has attempted to beat around that bush by focusing on characterization to drive its plots. Unfortunately for the writers there's not one likable character for us to want to focus on. Yeah, we get it, the world is chaos and you've all had to harden yourselves to survive. Well, with attitudes like yours we'd like nothing more than to watch you die. Carl Grimes comes off as particularly annoying and *SPOILER* seeing him have no remorse for killing an innocent young man only makes it worse. It's difficult to think of a character that doesn't ultimately rub us the wrong way. While the comic book the series is based off of has done well for a decade the longevity simply hasn't translated well to a live-action adaptation. AMC will not be giving the series up so easily, however, as hordes of real-life zombies somehow manage to maintain being glued to their televisions.
