10 Overlooked Buffy The Vampire Slayer Episodes That Are Secretly Classics

9. Ted (Season 2, Episode 6)

Considering the show is called Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the titular bombshell spends quite a lot of time fending off evil robots over the course of its seven seasons.

Although of all her battles against malicious machines, the episode Ted is undeniably the best. Bringing the horror much closer to home, Buffy has to contend with her mother's new boyfriend - the titular Ted - who instantly charms everyone around him. All except for Buffy of course, who is immediately wary of any man who seeks to woo her mother.

Buffy's suspicions are soon confirmed when Ted reveals a more sinister side, one that stalks and threatens Buffy when everyone else's backs are turned. Although despite her pleas, nobody believes that Ted is anything less than perfect.

What elevates this episode amongst the other standard 'Monster of the Week' fare is just how relatable and downright terrifying the scenario is. The subsequent reveal that Ted is in fact a killer robot may be a little too silly for some, but taken as a whole, Ted is a fantastic episode that managed to get under the viewer's skin in a way that no other episode managed to.
