10 Overlooked TV Shows You Should Watch

This ITV detective drama is more in the tradition of involved quality drama than brooding Nordic Noir. Three seasons have been broadcast, with a fourth coming, and all three are available to stream on Netflix.

The series follows a cold case unit, helmed by DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar), as they investigate disappearances and murders. Each season takes on a different case, following the intertwining lives of a handful of characters involved in the case, as well as our two main detectives.

It would hard to pick a standout series amongst the three, each case distinguished from the others such that it will largely be a question of personal taste, with consistently excellent performances across the board and quality construction. For those in the mood for a good mystery, you cannot go far wrong picking Unforgotten. Indeed, perhaps the highest praise that can be afforded a detective drama is that though you will undoubtedly have your favourite suspect from the early stages, you won't be convinced whodunit until the very end; the suspense and mystery preserved till the final moments without resorting to cheap twists and tricks.
