One of the more unusual side characters in the Parks and Recreation universe, Joan Callamezzo is the eccentric host of local news show Pawnee Today and a regular source of laughs during her time on the series.

An amusing side spectacle, there was always drama whenever Leslie ended up on Pawnee Today and it always resulted in comedy gold.

Scandals, scoops and PR types desperately trying to get on Joan’s Book Club, a spin-off series focusing on the exploits on Pawnee Today definitely has some legs to it and presents an opportunity for appearances from familiar Parks and Recreation characters past and present.

It also feels detached enough from the old series to attract fans old and new, while the presence of Mo Collins, best known for her work on the excellent sketch series Mad TV, as Joan would keep things lively.
