10 Parks & Recreation Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

6. Burt Macklin

Chris Pratt got his big break as the dumb but loveable Andy on Parks and Recreation, yet for many it was Andy’s alter-ego who stole the show.

A character Andy would revert to whenever a particular situation required the involvement of law enforcement, FBI Agent Burt ‘Tyrannosaurus’ Macklin was modelled on classic cops like Dirty Harry as well as Michael Knight in Knight Rider (he too had a twin brother called Kip Hackman). He also had a brilliantly named love interest in the form of Janet Snakehole.

While Burt was neither an FBI agent nor real, a series centred around his exploits as part of a fictionalised world away (Andy's imagination?) from the trappings of Parks and Recreation would be a lot of fun, serving as an Americanised version of Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place.
