10 Parks & Recreation Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

A leftfield choice, perhaps, by Parker Posey’s brilliant guest appearance as Leslie Knope’s friend-turned-foe warrants further screen time.

Posey played Lindsay Carlisle Shay, a former colleague and best friend of Leslie’s in the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department, who betrays her pal to take up the job of Deputy Parks Director in the rival town of Eagleton.

A snarky and often hilarious presence, by the time of the Pawnee-Eagleton merger in season six, Lindsay is nowhere to be seen with no explanation for her absence. A spin-off centred on what became of her character might not be an obvious one but could provide the perfect vehicle to showcase Posey’s brilliant comedic talent.

A memorable guest star on everything from The Simpsons to New Girl, Posey has also starred in no fewer than five of Christopher Guest’s most recent mockumentaries and is long overdue her own vehicle.
