10 Parks & Recreation Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

5. Mona-Lisa Saperstein

Parks and Rec

Another brilliant side character, Mona-Lisa Saperstein is the "twin sister from the same mister" as Tom Haverford’s best friend Jean-Ralphio Saperstein.

Not that she’s particularly close to Jean-Ralphio, who happily describes her as both "the worst person in the world" and a "total klepto, nympho, and pyro". That all combines for something quite hysterical in the world of Parks and Recreation.

Mona-Lisa was introduced later in the series than Jean-Ralphio. Many would struggle to match the energy and all-out madness of Ben Schwartz’s performance in the role but fellow actress/comedian Jenny Slate holds her own.

She’s genuinely bonkers, engaging in a relationship with Tom that ends in a fake pregnancy and ending the series up to her eyes in life insurance scams and plans for opening a casino in Tajikistan.

The only disappointment is that she only featured in seven episodes – but that could be rectified with a spin-off.
