10 Reasons 2015 Is The Perfect Year To Become A Doctor Who Fan

6. Previous Doctors

As a fan, no matter who your favourite is, the most important Doctor is always the current one - this goes without saying. Whether you€™re still mourning your favourite or whether you€™re just hoping for a glimpse of the past (à la The Day of the Doctor), the fact remains that your time with your Doctor has come to an end. It€™s sad, yes, but thankfully they€™re never truly gone. As mentioned earlier, you can go back and relive those moments from the very beginning. For a new fan, though, this is something altogether different. Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and even John Hurt. Four men who have played the Doctor exclusively in the NuWho era, and whilst, as mentioned, most fans have a favourite, there are few who would say that any of the above names failed in their role. Once a new fan has gotten to grips with our currently abrasive Scottish incarnation, they may feel the need to go back in time and meet those Doctors who came before him. And what a treat if they do. Going back to the beginning of Doctor Who doesn€™t just allow new fans to fill in those little plot holes and references made in the new series, it also gives them a chance to see just what attracted all of the current fans to the show in the first place. Whether it€™s Eccleston€™s "Fantastic!", Tennant€™s "Allons-y!" or Smith€™s "Geronimo!", new fans will take the same journey that existing fans got to experience, they€™ll just know where it€™s all leading.
