10 Reasons 2015 Is The Perfect Year To Become A Doctor Who Fan
4. Monsters
What would the Doctor be without all those planetary invading, murderous and evil enemies to keep him busy? Probably bored. One thing Doctor Who is known for is its monsters. The Daleks, the Sontarans, the Cybermen and, in some ways, the Master. These monsters have been part of the Doctors history for the last 50 years and theyll likely play their part in his future as well. There is little that can get a Doctor Who fan more excited than the return of their favourite Doctor Who nemesis. For many fans, however, its not the monsters of the original series that have been most popular but those who have only joined the series since its revival. The Weeping Angels make most top ten lists as they play on the fear of what goes on when youre not looking. The Silence, meanwhile, are monsters that you can only remember whilst you're looking at them - monsters that play on the most basic human fears. Series 8 was no exception. During Mummy on the Orient Express, fans were introduced to a Mummy that could only be seen seconds before death. Creepy! This creative world will allow for fear and exhilaration for new fans. Viewers continue to be treated to new monsters, new enemies that the Doctor has to fight, to protect those they seek to harm. In truth, the monsters are as important to the show as the Doctor is himself. Without those who seek to harm, why does the universe even need a Doctor?
