10 Reasons Why Constantine Must Not Get Cancelled

7. Respects The Source Material

It may be fairly toned down and still have a few differences, but the majority of the Constantine TV show is similar to the Hellblazer comics, particularly when it comes to the spirit in which it was written - and the character of John Constantine himself. A lot of the people, history and stories in Constantine will be familiar to Hellblazer fans. The recurring mentions of the Newcastle incident is a nod to Hellblazer€™s John, who was also driven to insanity by failing to stop the child Astra from being dragged to Hell. Both the comic and TV versions of Constantine had a great deal of their outlook on life shaped by this event. With so many Hellblazer stories to pick from, as well as the new plot lines that Constantine€™s writers are adding, the show has the potential for many more seasons. Also, look out for the end of season one episode coming soon - based on arguable one of the best Hellblazers ever created: the prison-based Hard Times.
