10 Reasons DC Fans NEED To Watch Titans
4. The Gritty Fight Scenes
Titans quickly subverted fan expectations when showing off just how bloody and brutal their action scenes were going to be. After all, who would've expected that the first fight scene in the show would involve Robin using his version of Batarangs to stab guys in the junk?
It certainly leaves an immediate impression on what to expect from the show's action: uncompromising, bloody sequences where Starfire's starbolt energy is brought to life in skin-tingling detail and every sharp object causes a gruesome 'squelch' sound when making contact with a target.
The violence is on the same level as the likes of Punisher and Daredevil, with blood being a constant sight and visibly-broken bones being an occasional inclusion.
It's not something anyone would've planned on seeing after the team's popular kid-friendly iterations, but with solid fight choreography and a tone that suitably matches the adult, grisly action, none of it feels ill-placed or inappropriate. A bit over-the-top at times? Sure. But it's consistently entertaining to watch and well-implemented, so you can easily overlook those more-exaggerated moments.
