10 Reasons DC Rules Superhero TV

2. Superheroics On A TV Budget

For ten years, Smallville was the only place to go for superheroes on television; even if they weren't wearing costumes, it was still superheroes doing superhero stuff, and it was fun. But as technology improves, so does our ability to create fantastic new visual effects and see these characters doing things we love watching. Smallville started the trend of doing superheroes on tv with credible visual effects, which is something that The Flash and Arrow have taken to heart. The pilot for The Flash was loaded with all kinds of eye candy, a thrilling spectacle of super speed and an epic tornado sequence that was a great climax to the opening salvo. Even Arrow started upping its visual effects game at the end of season two, proving that you don't always have to go to the movies to see something cool.
