10 Reasons Family Guy Is The Laziest Show On Television

Family Guy, in terms of its humor, used to be relatively tame in comparison to how it is now. This is because the show actually used to hold itself to a somewhat higher standard.

Now, since the program has gone down the train, they've started using a more shocking, controversy-bait style of comedy. Why? Because, they know full well their show is going downhill and are trying to do whatever they can to get mainstream media to notice them. You know you're scraping the bottom of the barrel when you come to rely on tasteless rape jokes.

Let's make one thing perfectly clear. An edgier, more outrageous style of comedy is not inherently a bad thing. Shows like South Park an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia pull it off wonderfully, in fact. However, whereas those shows offer genuine creativity to go along with the more risqué stuff, Family Guy relies almost exclusively on shock value to gain publicity.

Virtually no effort is put into the characters or stories, yet they always make sure to throw in crass jokes that are guaranteed to make headlines and get the general public riled up, because that's all they can do anymore.
