10 Reasons A Friends Movie Would Be A Terrible Idea

3. It Would Mess With The Closure Of The Finale

There was a collective sigh of relief when Rachel got off that plane and embraced Ross in the finale. The constant question of will they/won€™t they be together was bought to a definite conclusion. For the film to work they would have to mess with this situation in order to give us some form of dilemma for the movie to rectify. The show€™s key relationships, Ross and Rachel, and Monica and Chandler ended perfectly. Phoebe ended up with Mike, and Joey remained as Joey. The characters ended without any discord, but some form of issue would have to arise in order for the film to work. We don€™t want to just see another day in the life, or a what happened next situation. There would need to be an argument, or and event, that forces the cast to come together on screen. As sad as it seems, Friends has many parallels with most people€™s lives because the issues are ones we can all relate to. We felt great when everything turns out to be fine because it gave us hope for our own lives. To bring the characters back would demolish this momentous achievement and leave us questioning whether our own lives will mess up. The last episode of Friends is poignant because it left much to the imagination, but also because it let us know that the characters journey into adulthood was complete.
