10 Reasons Netflix's Marvel Is Definitely Worth Your Time
8. Character Exploration
With longer plots comes more detailed character exploration, and that's exactly what we have here. This isn't a simple goodies versus baddies situation like we have in the films, but a complex - often heartbreaking - character study.
Even typical villainous figures like Wilson Fisk - almost impossible to like - have their backstories explored to reveal why they are the way they are. Often they have a tragic past, full of trauma, and we can only come to the conclusion that they're actually victims in all this.
Also, the heroes aren't always the most moral and ethical of characters. An obvious example here would be The Punisher (Frank Castle), whose extreme and murderous style of vigilantism initially makes him an enemy of Daredevil.
In Jessica Jones, too, there are plenty of allies who take the wrong path and end up causing more harm than good.
