10 Reasons People Stopped Watching The Walking Dead
5. So Slow
Like the zombies themselves, this show has a tendency to move at a snail's pace. If there's one thing that The Walking Dead has taught us, it's that zombie-infested worlds are actually pretty dull. Aside from dealing with the odd bunch of cannibals and psychos, there's not a whole lot to do.
The show's second and third seasons were famously ponderous, but that slow pace has persisted in more recent years too. Season 7 was painfully slow as most episodes saw our heroes doing mindless busywork for Negan and the Saviors, and all of season 8 was basically just one fight dragged out to fill sixteen episodes. Some individual episodes, like Swear in season 7, which was all about Tara going to Oceanside, serve as perfect examples of how slow the show can be.
In recent times, the show has thrown in big personalities like King Ezekiel and Negan in a desperate attempt to try and provide some kind of entertainment, because in all honesty, without those cartoonish characters, there really wouldn't be much going on except a bunch of miserable people sitting around watching corn grow.
