10 Reasons People Stopped Watching The Walking Dead
4. Sudden Personality Changes
Character development is a core part of any show, but the writers of The Walking Dead seem to change the cast's personalities almost at random. Rick has been everything from a throat-biting killer to a feeble farmer. Morgan has undergone a similar rollercoaster ride of personality changes, while Daryl is almost unrecognisable from the witty, badass biker who appeared in the early seasons.
The latest season was filled with examples of this. Remember when Tara is seconds away from killing Dwight because he allied with Negan in the past, completely forgetting that she did the exact same thing and was standing by The Governor's side while he sliced off Hershel's head? And then, an episode or two later, she changes her mind and starts defending Dwight to the hilt.
The final moments of the finale offered another perfect example, as suddenly Maggie, Daryl, and even Jesus all decide to hold a secret meeting and plan to overthrow Rick. Rick has successfully led them to victory against the worst enemy they've ever met, and now the people closest to him want to betray him? This is especially weird for Jesus, who has preached honesty and non-violence since first arriving on the show.
