Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Reasons Season 2 Was The Best
"But we know the world didn't end, 'cause...check it out".
To be a fan of Buffy is to argue with other fans of Buffy. We tend to agree on exactly one thing- that Buffy The Vampire Slayer is an excellent show and should be required viewing for all adolescents (and adults, lets be honest). Beyond that? Its a constant battle between good and evil and by good I mean "people who found Riley dull" and by evil I mean "anyone repping Kennedy". Debates rage about the scariest monsters of the week (definitely The Gentlemen), the best song from Once More With Feeling (it's "Walk Through The Fire" but the case for "I'll Never Tell" is persuasive) and whether or not the spin-off Angel is worth watching at all (it is but we deserve an apology for Connor). But the greatest battle of all is over the seemingly innocuous question - "Which is the best season?". Because Buffy fans treat the answer to this question as a Rorschach test of fandom. Is season 3 your favourite? You enjoy very tightly plotted storytelling and possibly have daddy issues. Do you love season 5? You're all about sacrifice and answering life's big questions. Watching season 6 on repeat? Uh...u OK hun? Think people should give 1, 4 or 7 more time? Please stop taking the proverbial, mate, this is a serious exercise. So though there are cases to be made for at least some other seasons, the clear winner is the glorious season 2, which reached peaks no other season could match. Think I'm wrong? Well, I'd like to test that theory.
