10 Reasons Star Wars Fans NEED To Watch Rebels

9. It's The End Of The Clone Wars

Star Wars Rebels Season 1

The arrival of Rebels saw the end of the Clone Wars (at the time anyway). When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, they cancelled the Clone Wars and moved ahead with Rebels instead. We never knew what happened to characters like Ahsoka, Captain Rex and Maul. Did they survive Order 66? Short answer: yes. And all three of them show up again in Rebels Season 2. Their reappearance allows the writers to give these characters some sort of closure. But that's the more behind the scenes end to the Clone Wars, so what happens in the show?

The sixth episode of Season 3, the Last Battle, sees Rex, Ezra, Kanan and Zeb on a salvage mission where they end up captured by a unit of old Battle Droids seeking one last battle to see the end of The Clone Wars. But what happens next when the the Empire show up?

If you are a fan of the Clone Wars, then you'll particularly enjoy this episode. In the films, the Clone War stops as the Republic becomes the Empire and Darth Vader wipes out the Separatist leaders. So to actually see a satisfying "last battle" between the remaining forces taking on the new threat to the galaxy is a real pay off.

If you grew up with the Clone Wars, then it's likely you'll enjoy Rebels just as much. Also, after watching The Siege of Mandalore, coming into Rebels makes more sense as a logical sequel, no both series are truly completely.
