10 Reasons Star Wars Fans NEED To Watch Rebels
8. The Return Of Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka Tano first debuted in the Clone Wars 2008 film, and across five seasons of the TV show grew into one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars galaxy. But in season five of the Clone Wars, Ahsoka walks away from the Jedi Order after losing faith in it. So at the time, this is the last we saw of the character. As of July 2020, we know what happened to Ahsoka and how she fought the Battle of Mandalore. But back in 2015, Ahsoka's return was huge.
Ahsoka's return comes as a bit of a surprise, one that shan't be revealed here. Across her time on the show Ahsoka really develops, emerging with a new pair of badass white lightsabers. The backstory of these new blades is just as exciting, revealed in the Ahsoka novel, created from restoring the corrupted crystals of an inquisitor's lightsaber.
Obviously, time has passed since the days of the Clone Wars, but Ahsoka's character has grown. No longer the bratty Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka has become a strong leader in herself, having a significant role in the growing rebellion.
Ahsoka has a rather important role in this period of galactic history. Whilst not a Jedi anymore, she survived Order 66, and is the old apprentice of Darth Vader. How powerful has Ahsoka become since leaving the Jedi Order? Does Ahsoka know what happened to Anakin during Order 66? Does she come face to face with Vader? If you want to see some serious character development, then seeing Ahsoka's story over the course of Rebels is definitely fulfilling.
Ahsoka is rumoured to return in the Mandalorian Season 2, so surely you want to know how she got from the Clone Wars finale to years after the original trilogy.
